WALKED INTO SEA
LADY ATTEMPTS SUICIDE.
FOUND WORK AS KITCHEN MAID

(Received October 27, 5.5 p.m.) LONDON, October 27. Lady Dimsdale, widow of Sir John Dimsdale, was charged at Canterbury with attempted suicide by walking into tho sea at Whitestable. It was stated in evidence she informed the police she tried to drown herself. Her husband had previously committed suicide. The probation officer stated lie had secured employment for the prisoner as a kitchen maid at the Maidstone Girls' Home. Counsel for the present Baronet, prisoner's stepson, said lie was willing to assist her financially if she wais willing to go to the Girls’ Home. The prisoner interjected that it was rather late for the offer after her experiences Accused agreed to accept the work offered, whereupon she was discharged.
