New« received by mail from Sydney is to the effect that there is e\ory likelihood of on Australian team coming to New Zealand this season. The New Zealand Cricket Council has been carrying on with negotiations in tho hope of securing ;i visit ftom a Now South Wales Ham. Its representative in Sydney, Mr T. 11 Howard, was communicated with, and through him an invitation was extended to New South Wales. As a result, M: is practically certain that some of the New South Wales star players and others who show promise of achieving tho highest honours in Australian cricket will 1» included in the team. Tt will ho coni|>osed solely of Now South Welshmen. and vill leave after tho Sheffield Shield contests have been finished.
