The Economic Conference to-day passed a resolution ae follows:—(1) Regarding the established practice not to discriminate between the flags of shipping in Empire ports, there is no intention of departing therefrom in the case of countries treating ocean-going shipping under the British flag on a footing of equality with their own shipping. (2) In 'the event of a foreign country attempting to discriminate against British shipping in the future, the Governments of the Empire will consult together to seek the best means of meeting the situation.
