GOVERNOR IMPEACHED
ALLEGED CORRUPT ACTION. KU KLUX IN OKLAHOMA. Australian an-! \' 7. Cable Association. (Received October 24, 10.10 p.m.) NEW YORK, October 23. At Oklahoma City, tho Governor, Mr J. C. Walton, was suspended from office on charges of corrupt practices. The Senate decided by 36 votes to 1 in favour of impeaching him for employing his personal chauffeur in tho Health Department, at a salary of 200 dollars monthly, contrary to the law. Mr Walton says he will ignore the impeachment. The Oklahoma. Assembly, in which the majority of members arc supporters of the Ku Kliix Klan, have been in bitter feud with the Governor, who iocently began a campaign against the Klan.
