ANGLICAN SYNOD RECOMMENDA-

TION.

Per Press Association. AUCKLAND, October 24. The licensing question was the subject of four motions, which .were plaoed before tho Diocesan Synod by Canon Williams. The principal motion was to l the effect that the Synod communicate with tho Prime Minister, reminding him of his promise to introduce drastic reforms of tlie licensing law, and the second that the Synod should commend to the earnest and careful consideration of Christian people the corporate control scheme formulated by the Corporate Control Board. It was recommended that the committee whioh had been appointed by the Bishop and olergy take steps to organise public opinion in tho direction of licensing reform. Another proposal was that the attitude of the Synod should be made known to the Archbishop and to the Bishops of the province. After discussion, occupying last evening, this afternoon and evening, the motions were carried, and on amendment to add to the first motion by having the issues confined to two, prohibition and corporate control, was rejected.
