NGAIO SUBWAY
PILING DIFFICULTY OVERCOME.
Some few days ago trouble was experienced by the Railway Department in driving piles for the temporary support of the railway line at Ngaio, while the City Council’s men were constructing the permanent subway, as rook was struck at very little depth below the surface, and there was a doubt as to whether the piling would be sufficiently firm. The difficulty has, however, been overcome, and tlie subway construction work will not be delayed.
