The Nationalist Conterenee passed a resolution that its congratulations should be cabled to Mr Stanley Bruce, Federal Prime Minister, for liis advocacy of Empire preference, which it was stated was in the highest interests of Great Britain, as well as of the dominions. The resolution also states that the time has arrived when Empire statesmen should think and act in terms of the Empire rather than of isolated States. The party platform was amended in the direction that the Australian Navy should take the form of co-operation with the Imperial Navy and the other dominions, with a view of maintaining an adequate Imperial fleet in the Pacific.
