CHRISTCHURCH JEWISH TEAM DEFEATED. An interesting game took place at Keiburn Park yesterday between Wellington and Christchurch Jewish teams. Christchurch batted first, and the first two, Spolsky and Jacob, made a good stand, the 'score being taken to over 100 before they were separated. Benjamin, for Wellington, bowled well, and was responsible for the dismissal of most of the batsmen. The innings closed for 178. Wellington opened their innings badly. three wickets falling with the score less than 30. M. Pitkowsky, a promising young batsman, was standing up to the howling well, but could find no one to stop with him. Pitkowsky began quietly, but soon warmed up, and for a youth liis strokes were excellent. He drove and hooked well, and his strokes were all nicely placed. He hit 26 fours and scored altogether 139 not out. Wellington finally won the game by two wickets and several runs. Following are the details: CHRISTCHURCH. A. Jacobs, b Benjamin 39 H.
