NO SALE FOR TRAINING. At yesterday’s special meeting of the City Council Cr. Meadowcroft moved: “That in view of the great world-wide opinion against the exhibition of trained animals, the future policy of the Wellington City Council be'that no lion cubs bo sold to be trained for put> lie performances.” Or. Chapman, while not opposing th? motion, said he could not see that it would serve any useful purpose. If it came to a matter of consistency there was cruelty oven in the breaking in of horses. The council passed the motion.
