KEEN COMPETITION. The prices for fat stock that have been ruling for some Hme wore well maintained at the Westfield sales this week. Tho quality was good, and there wns keen competition. Extra choice ox sold to XI 17s per lOfllb, choice and prime brought from XI 13s to .£1 16* Gd, ordinary and plain AM 11s to .£1 13s 6d. Prime young cow and heifer beef sold at from Xl 6s to XI 13s. Sheep met with a steady demand, prices varying somewhat from those that ruled at the last sale. Heavy prime wethers brought £2 4s 6d to <£2 7s 3d, while heavy prime ewes realised from XI 19s to X2 5s 6(1. Spring lambs were not of such fine quality as those of the previous week, and prices dropped somewhat. Best lambs brought from XI 7s to XI 10s.
