The Abermain Colliery was idle yesterday in consequence of 500 tons of earth and coal collapsing in the travelling tunnel a quarter or an hour prior to the miners entering for the day’s duties. Three hundred miners had gathered round the tunnel mouth at the time, proparing to enter.
