ATTEMPT TO LOWER RECORD. Per ; Press Association. AUCKLAND, April 17. ' W. S. Millar, of Auckland. in an attempt to lower the Wellington to Auckland motor record* had forty-two minutes to cover twenty-four' miles when tlie swivel pin of the front wheel broke, compelling abandonment of the effort.
