BOY ELECTROCUTED

RESOURCEFUL COMPANION. Through touching an electric wire that had broken, Maurice Riley, seven years of age, was killed at Waverly, Sydney, recently. Giving evidence at the inquest, Jack Madden 11 years of ago, said he wns in Brisbane street, when an., electric wire snapped, and fell. He rushed to a house opposite, but could make ro one- hear. . H 9 ran to the Waverly Council Chambers, but was referred to the Telephone Exchange, where he got someone to telephone to the City Council. The. coroner remarked that Madden showed unusual presence of mind. His evidence was the most intelligent statement ever made m a witness-box.
