HOPE OF PEACE
CONFERENCE IN DUBLIN. PEOPLE WEARY OF STRIFE. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association (Received February 5, 12.5 a.m.) LONDON, February 4. The Irish people are weary of '■strife, and are looking hopefully to the meeting in Dublin to-day of 200 delegatee, representing nearly 50,000 former soldiers in the Irish Republican Army who fought the British before the truce, but did not participate in civil strife over the treaty. Delegates coming from all parts of the Free State will endeavour to bridge the gulf between the Free Staters and the Republicans. REPRISAL POLICY REBELS WILL FOLLOW SUIT. Australian and N.Z. Cable Association. LONDON,' February 2. ’ Liam Lynch announces that Senators and Deputies seized in future will he held as hostages in view of the execution of Republicans.
