SOUTHLAND’S QUANDARY
DIFFICULTY OVER DATE. * Pe- Press Association. INVERCARGILL, January 10. At a meeting of the Amateur Athletic Club this evening it was decided to postpone tho American meeting. It is impossible to get Wednesday half-holi-day, the Mayor, Mr J. F. Lilliorap, refusing this. It was decided to ask for Saturday, January 27th, or a later date. The acceptance or non-acceptance means the success or death of amateur athletics here.
