THE HUTT ROAD
TENDERS FOR PERMANENT SURFACE. . Authority was granted by the City Council last evening for the calling of tenders in New Zealand and the United States of America for the laying down of a strip of the Hutt road in permanent materials. Arrangements are to be made for the work to Si carried out by contract under a five years' guarantee; alternatively, an expert is to be appointed to supervise the construction of the road, and the supply of all necessary plant and material is to be a separate contract.
