CHANCE FOR FISHING INDUSTRY. Sir J. P. Luke (Wellington North) gave notice yesterday to ask the Prime Minister whether the Government, will, in pursuance of their policy to assist the fishing industry, take the necessary steps to secure one or more steam trawlers now advertised for sale by the British Admiralty; and,. if the answer is in the affirmative, whether such assistance will be tendered to reliable men connected with the fishing industry? •The following ’ (stated the hon. member) is a copy of an advertisement in the New Zealand Press: ‘The British Admiralty has. for disposal a number of trawlers oif the Mersey, and Strath types as used in the fishing ports of the United Kingdom; some of which are how working, in New Zealand. The- vessels of the Mersey and Castle types are fitted, with insulate 3 fish-holds and electric light. > Per< eons wishing to purchase, these fishing vessels to communicate with the Director of.
