DEFENCE EXPENDITURE
“OUT IT OUT,” SAYS MR WITTY. “COULD SAVE £300,000 PER YEAR.” Mr G. Witty, M.P., urged yesterday afternoon on the seoond reading ot the Imprest Supply Bill, that if the Government desired to save money it should cut out the expenditure on the defence forces, the land forces, altogether, and train the cadets at school instead. That was all that was neceecould save some £300,000 a year by cutting out the whole of the defence expenditure except that on the drilling of the boys at school, which could be done by the teachers themselves.
