UNEMPLOYED FUND
£IOOO FROM RACING CLUB. The Wellington Racing Club has handed over to the Mayor a cheque for iiIOOO towards the Unemployment Fund. This sum is rather more than one-third of the proceeds from the recent meeting at Trentham. The congregation of St. , Hilda's Church, Island Bay, has donated £1 9s 6d to the fund. Tutschka’s string band played last night In various city streets on behalf of the fund, and the Boys’ Institute Band will play at the Oriental Bay rotunda lor the same purpose ou Sunday.
