THE MOUATT CASE
A PHASE DISCUSSED. THE SUBJECT DROPPED. A phase of what is known as the Mouatt case was mentioned at last evening’s meeting of the Wellington Rugby Referees’ Association. Tlie chairman, Mr A. Neilsen, 6aid that the Berhampore Club had unreservedly withdrawn the letter which had been written in reference to Mr R. Evensen, the referee in the Ber-hampore-Petone match. Mr Moffitt had appeared before the executive of the association, and explained that he had made no charge of club bias against Mr Evensen. The executive recommended that tho withdrawal should be accepted. On the motion of Mr R. T. Bailey, the recommendation was adopted unanimously.
