CLYDE QUAY SCHOOL
NEW INFANT DEPARTMENT. The Minister for Education (the Hon. C. J. Parr), accompanied by the chairman and the secretary of the Wellington Education Board and members of the school committee, visited the new school site in Elizabeth street yesterday. As a result of their consultation it is hoped that the new six-roomed infant school on the latest approved design will be commenced shortly. Plans were prepared two years ago, and it is now hoped that the financial difficulty which then prevented tenders being called will now be overcome. At the regular monthly meeting of the school committee last night, much gratification was expressed that the prospects for improved conditions in the school are now so much brighter.
