RADIO TELEGRAMS
SCALE OF CHANGES. Regulations gazetted yesterday prescribe the following scale of charges- for radio telegrams Ordinary radio telegrams 'to or froin coastal or intercolonial ships from or to any telegraph office in New Zealand, 5d per word (ship-station charge, 2d per word; coast-station and inland charges, 3d per word); ordinary radio, telegram to or from other vessels trading to New Zealand, lOd per. word (ship-station charge, 4d per word; coaststation and inland charges, 6d); ordinary* radio telegram to -or from ships trading exclusively between Wellington and Lyttelton 2£d per word, with a minimum charge of Is 3d for each message; shipstation charge, Id per word; coast-sta-tion and inland charges, 1(d)-_
The charge for the transmission, of an ordinary radio telegram to or from the mainland of New Zealand from or to Chatham Islands, is to be 6d per word, and to His Majesty’s ships (when in New Zealand' waters) 5d per word. The New Zealand coast-station charge on radio telegrams exchanged with the fixed stations of other administrations or with Rarotonga is to he 6d per word. The charge for an urgent radio telegram Is the charge for an ordinary radio telegram plus the rates charged for urgent telegrams over the telegraph systems the message 'has to traverse. Whenever Chatham Island Radio Station Is used, as a relaying-station the charge will he 4d per word.
