FLAY ON TRICKY "WICKET. GAME at INTERESTING STAGE. Y.M.C.A. and Insttiute senior eiev»ns met on a tricky wicket at the Anderson Park on Saturday. J.nstttute won tHe toss and sent the Association team in to hat on a drying wioket, which proved very jumpy, and play was erratio in consequence. Considering the circumstances, Y.M.GA. made a fair innings, knocking up a total of 154 runs, of which White compiled 43, Taylor 37, Jones 18, and Westbrooke 12. None of tyie other batsmen, were successful in gaining double , figures, James, a young and promising member of the Institute team, did very good work as wicket-keeper. The wickets were shared 1 between Banks, Bourke, Griffiths, Bari’, and Pitchfield. Banks and: Burke took four and three respectively, and the other bowlers one each. Institute made a poor start, early in the innings losing one of their best mabsmen, Dempster, who was caught by Jones off Henderson before he had entered doable figures. Bell reached 15, when he succumbed to Henderson, and James and G. Burke, who have 10 and 21 respectively to their credit, will resume when the game is continued next Saturday.
