CITY POSTAL RATES
REQUEST FOR REDUCTION. DECLINED BY DEPARTMENT. A suggestion emanating from ths Dunedin Chamber of Commerce that a reduction of letter postage rates _to -Id should be effected in connection with the city and suburban deliveries ms recently forwarded to the Secretary of the Post Office by. the local chamber. A letter was read at meeting .of the Wellington chamber in which the Secretary to the Post Office stated thaC the department regretted it was unable to give the suggestion favourable consideration. The letter was received.
