REMARKABLE PROCESSION
LONDON’S POOR MARCH ON WORKHOUSE. LONDON, July 23. There was a remarkable procession at Wandsworth, six hundred men, women, children, and infants in arms and in perambulators, marching to the workhouse, and demanding admission, which was refused, with the exception of four women and a number of children, whose husbands and fathers had been previously admitted. The police dispersed the others. An official stated that the workhouse had accommodation for nine hundred, but this had been already exceeded.
