Mr Mainwaring Steward, Bishop of Melanesia, in an interview, said that the traders and planters in tho Pacific Islands were turning their attention to American and English traders instead of Sydney, because of the strikes. Copra was being shipped by overseas boats, bringing trading goods when returning.
