ALPINE FURNACES
SHARES RE-SOLD TO STINNES GROUP. IMPORTANT TO AUSTRIA. W ‘ - ■ ssociavion. (Received March 17, 10.20 p.m.) LONDON, March 16. The “Daily Ghroncile’e” Vienna correspondent states that Herr Stmnes’s syndicate has purchased 200,000 out_ of half a million shares in the Alpine Montan Gesellschaft, Austria’s giant iron ore company, from the Italian Fiat Company. The Fiat Company purchased a quarter of a million shares in 1919, but was unable to supply coke for the blast furnaces, so it is now forced to re-sell to the St-innes group. Restarting the alpine furnaces on full production is of the utmost importance to Austria.
