WAGES REDUCTION
UNIONS FAVOURS SECTIONAL CONFERENCES. , RESISTANCE DISASTROUS. Australian ami N.Z. Cable Association. (Received March 17, 10.20 p.m.) LONDON, March 17. The Parliamentary Committee of tho Trade Union Congress decided against a national conference to consider the wage reduction- question on the ground that a group of sectional conferences is a more suitable and practical solution.
Mr C. W. Bowerman stated that the committee held that it would he disastrous to organise resistance to wage reductions on national lines, for example a general strike.
