THE CEMENT COMPANY CASE. COUNSELS’ ADDRESSES NOT CONCLUDED. rs* pkvss Assort i.tion. AUCKLAND, March 16. The hearing of tho action in which £190,000 is claimed for the alleged misfeasance of certain directors of the Portland Cement Company, in liquidation, was continued in the Supreme Court, when, on behalf of various defendants, counsel addressed tho court, ana replied tn detail to tho allegations of the plaintiffs. One counsel said it was obvious there was a considerable amount of business transacted by th« company not the subject of any minute on record. Again, motives or reasons for directors’ acts rarely appeared on tho minutes. Some of the directors were dead, and the memories of others had faded in the intervening years. Tlio statement of claim was truly a medley of charges. The case was adjourned.
