BOILERMAKERS’ DISPUTE
WELLINGTON AGREEMENT AS BASIS. PER PRESS ASSOCIATION. UixJtior OreU lUJii, April 8, The Conciliation Council to-day heard the boilermakers’ dispute. Thu union asked for a wage of 3s per hour and a working week of 40 hours, namely, eight hours per day from Monday to Friday inclusive. Under, the old award the wages were Is 7id per hour, plus a bonus of SJd. It was decided to take the agreement entered into recently in_ Wellington. as the basis of discussion! It was agreed that the hours of work should ho 44 per week—namely, eight hours per day from Monday to Friday inclusive and four hours on Saturday; also that wages should bo 2s per hour, plus a bonus of 3d per hour. It was agreed that overtime should be paid for at tho rate of time and a half,- the basis of computation to bo the flat rate wage pice the bonus.
