EXTRAORDINARY ELECTIONS OF MAYOR AND COUNCILLORS. Extraordinary elections in connection with the Eastbourne Borough are to bo held on Thursday, April 29th, for the purpose of electing a Mayor, to fill the vacancy caused by the resignation of Mr F. H. Mayer, and to elect four councillors to fill the vacancies caused by the resignations of Councillors H. Black, R. E. Manly, T. W. F. Marsden, and H. G. -Mayer. The electoral, rolls dose at 5 p.m. on Thursday, April 15th, and the nominations at 12 noon on Thursday, April 22nd. THE REASON WHY.

As the result of inquiries made yes terday, a” “Times” reporter was informed that prior to the latest election of councillors, the minority on the Eastbourne Borough Council had great difficulty in getting any information at all as to the work of the three hig council committees—th'.» Publio Works, Finance, and Ferry Boat Committees, the minority representatives being confined to the Reserves and By-Laws Committees. At the election, however, the minority was reinforced by tho election of two members pledged to publicity and equal division of committee work.
