IMPERIAL MEAT PURCHASE
The opinion was freely expressed Iby prominent sheepfarniers at Cheviot that the proposed appeal for the extension of the meat purchase by the Imperial Government would be a mistake, and that it would be far more in the interests of New Zealand producers if arrangements could be made that would ensure our stores being cleared of Imperial meat before next killing season. Some farmers st: ted that if the purchase were extended the effect would merely be to postpone tne present position, with the re--suit that they would evenually have to faco the same question again; rnd from tho producers' point of view tho sooner normal conditions were leached the better.
