FEB PRESS ASSOCIATION. CHRISTCHUROH, March 17. At the Dyttelton Magistrate's Court James Nicol, second engineer of tho Opihi, pleaded guilty to a charge of assaulting Percy Hunter, chief engineer, striking him, on tho head with a water bottle, causing a severe gash. Accused was fined £5 and expenses, in default one month's imprisonment. The charge was brought under tho Crimes Act, but was reduced to one of common assault.
