THORNDON BATHS
CLOSING THIS MONTH. The City Council resolved last night that the Thorndon baths should be closed at the end of the* present month because of their unsatisfactory' state. Councillor M. F. Luckie said there •would be many complaints if a move Here not immediately made to replace these baths. The Acting-Mayor (Councillor G. Frost) said the matter would be pressed’on with. The public had not been using the baths lately. In the last five months the takings there had been £lB and the expenses .£'lßo. Councillor P. Fraser thought the council should consider providing tepid and even Turkish baths in the centre of the city.
