LODGE RESERVATIONS ' WILL AMERICAN SENATORS RATIFY? , A NEW MOVEMENT. By Telegraph—Press Assn.— Copyright Australian and N./5. Cable Association. (Received February 24, 9.20 p.m.) WASHINGTON, February 23. It seems that a movement has developed amongst tho Democrats for the acceptance, of Senator Lodge’s reservations on Article Ten and the Monroe Doctrine in order to make possible the ratification of tho Treaty. The Republicans say that twenty-two Democrats aro ready to accept Senator Lodge s reservations, but thirty-four will do needed before the Treaty can bo passed. It is rumoured,, that the Democrats will demand a caucus at which it will bo urged that' Senator "Lodge s pro-e-rammo should be accepted. Mr H. C. Hoover; in a; speech at Baltimore, declared that the Treaty should bo ratified With mild reservations since the satisfactory adjustment of conditions in Europe' was impossible unless tho Treaty Whs passed., Iho Treaty should not bo made an issue at the coming elections.
