FIRE AT WHAKATANE

The brigade, and a brick partition wall, prevented the spread of the fire through tho block, which included tho Post Office adjoining. Tho insurances aro: On building £7OO in the South British office; Clarke’s stock £7OO in the Alliance and £176 in tho Standard.
