LITTLE GIRL DROWNED
SAID TO HAVE BEEN PUSHED INTO WATELI. Press Association. THAMES. July 20. A siul drowning fatality occurred last night., A little girl, six years old, was playing on a bridge at Kcrlkcri, near Kopu, with' two small boys, one of whom is a native, when it is alleged that the latter 'undressed the girl and pushed her into - the water. Tli,o alarm was at once •given, and the stream was dragged all night. _ the body being recovered this morning. The name of the girl drowned was Irene Quinn, daughter of Mr Quinn, J.P.. whole son was recently decorated at the front for bravery. An inquest was opened this afternoon by Mr Lucas (the coroner) and adjourned. Both lads are being detained by the police.
