An attempt'to hold a prohibited meeting in Dublin on Sunday evening culminated in a riot, when Count Plunket and a, man named Brugha drove up in a ‘motor-ear near Liberty Hall. About a thousand people surged round the ear. Brugha called out; ’•The British Government will not allow us freedom of speech.” A policeman pulled him out of tho car, and Plunket tried to stop him, while the mob shouted, and he also was arrested. Meanwhile the nolice dispersed the greater part of the mob. As Inspector Mills was escorting Plunket and four others to the police stVtion, someone felled him with a stick, and he died later.
