In the House, of Commons Mr Lloyd George stated that the present condition of Irish politics made a conference of a smaller number than 101 impossible, as the Government desired to secure representation of every-day life in Ireland, and was inviting county councils and country boroughs to send their chairmen. It was also inviting five members of cadi political party, four members of the Roman Catholic Church, the Anglican Archbishop, tho Presbyter,an Moderator, and five representatives of Irish trade unionism. Tho Government would not choose its fifteen nominees until the other names were chosen. The Government was also prepared to nominate the chairman of the Convention. Mr Lloyd George closed his speech with a warm tribute to tho late Mr William Redmond. Though a man of his age could not bo expected to endure she dangers and hardships of the war. he sought peril and privations with a cheerful courage. .Mr Asquith and Sir Edward Carson paid similar tributes to the deceased soldier and M.P. i Sir Edward Carson said the Belfast Conference lied accepted his advice, and had decided to enter the Convention. Mr Redmond had died side by side with Ulstermen, which was a good omen. A solution of the Irish question might be found which ifould meet nil the ideals of liberty in all parts of Ireland. Dublin has appealed to Mr Lloyd George to release the Sinn Feinors.
