AN OIL BOOM

There is an oil boom in full swing at Calgary, Canada. Tbo owners of a property adjoining tbo Dingman Well made £200,000 sterling in small amounts, Tho crowds are so great that dozens of police have been employed to keep order. The entire stock issues of new companies have been subscribed in a day. One hundred new brokers’ offices have been opened. It is doubtful whether the discoveries justify tho excitement.
