A MAGNIFICENT SPECTACLE. By Telegraph— Press Association—C<ipyrl(hi SYDNEY, December 22. The Rev. Mr Gillon (a New Hebrides missionary) and other passengers by tho last island steamer say that the voloanlc outbreak at Ambrym Island presented a magnificent spectacle from the dock of the vessel. It will probably bo never known, howmany natives pieribhed. There were numbers in the bush, and it will lie some time before their fate is ascertained, if ever it is. Some who swam out to sea were scalded to death by the heat of the water caused by the lava.
