Three will be admitted from Masterton, two from Greytown end two from Wellington. The Excelsior Hockey Club has decided to hold a dance on Thursday, August 29th, and the following committee has been appointed in connection with the function: Messrs L, Nicol, ,G. Scrimgcour, W. Mrs Amoore, a very old and highly respected resident of Masterton, is seriously ill. About four chains of Hogg's road at Ihnraua has slipped away, and the road will bo closed for some time, as labor cannot be obtained to carry out repairs. It is probable that the settlers themselves will have to put the road in a condition to allow of it being opened again for traffic. Mr H. Hugo, of Masterton, who has been on a trip to Australia, has returned home. ■ ■ "r --=
