March 1. , Mrs Izard returned from the south on Wednesday. Mrs Smith left this week for Dunedin, where she attends the W.C.T.H. as a delegate from Wanganui. Mis Speedy ('l'akapau, Hawke's Bay) is the guest of her niece, Mrs Bay ley. Miss Beetham (Palmerston North) is the guest of Mr and Mrs Christie, St. John's Hill.

The engagement is announced of Mies Ida Stevenson, only daughter of Mr John Stevenson (local manager of the Loan and Mercantile Company), to Mr J. Urey, of Wellington. The marriage of Miss Maud Dustin to Mr Percy bailey takes place on March 19th. ’ At Christ Church ou Wednesday Miss Alice Marion (Nem) Allpress, youngest daughter of Mr and Mrs Chas. Allpress, of Horomiko road, Gonville, was married to Mr William Bramwell Tremowan (third son of the late Benjamin Tremewan). The bride, who was given away by her brother, Mr Pred Allpress, wore a gown of white crepe de chine with trarout tucked chiffon yoke mid un* der sleeves. An enjoyable Leap Year dance was given on Thursday evening in the Gonvillo Hall. There were about sixty-live couples present, and although the night was hot those present enjoyed themselves.
