ALLEGED MINE SWINDLE
COURT PROCEEDINGS AT SEATTLE. By Telegraph—Press Assoolaticm—Copyright NEW YORK, December 8., At Seattle an alleged groat mining swindle is being ventilated in tho courts. A. H. and 0. A. Moore are charged with using the United States mails to defraud peoplo. They promoted the Alaska Mining Company, the company being advertised as owning fire thousand acres of gold-bearing lands. The sum of £II,OOO was collected in stock subscriptions, and throe hundred men wore taken to Alaska to work in developing the property. Dividends of 20 per cent, were- promised. It is now alleged that most of the money went into the promoters’ pockets, and that nothing was done to develop the property said to have been secured by the Moores.
