TUESDAY, OCTOBER 10. (Before Mr AY. G. Riddell; S.M.) THEFT OF BOOTS. William Lawrence and Harry Spooner were charged with having on the' oth inst. stolen eleven pairs of boots of a total value of A 5, the property of Robert Pearson. , Sub-Inspector - Sheehan, who prosecuted said that the boots had since been recovered. Lawrence, who had several times previously ■ been convicted on different charges, was sentenced to three months’ imprisonment and Spooner was fined 40s, in default seven days. CIVIL ACTIONS. '

Ernest Cohen was ordered to pay -K) 14s 6cl to C. Webster and others on or before October 24th, in default seven days’ imprisonment. • H. H. Knight was ordered-to. pay -.to Arthur T. Clark on or before the 21th 11s 6d to C. Webster and others on or alternative to serve seven days in prison. Te Koroneho was ordered to pay Emily Gullery JSB 2s in instalments of 30s per month. ■ In the case*of: Arthur Searle, v. John Searle, a claim for >37 12s, defendant was ordered to pay the amount on or before November 7th, in default seven days’ imprisonment. i
