HUTT COUNTY
The monthly inciting of the Hutt County Council was held yesterday. There were present —Councillors M. Lynch (in the chair), J. VVakeham. \v. Galloway, T. ivdwards ami J. Whiteman. The borough inspector (Mr J. \V. Cudby) reported that most of the roads were in good order. I 7 or the construction of the Fitzherbert trwamp bridge; 2300 feet of timber had been ordered. As soon as delivery war, made the work would be commenced. Accounts amornting to jC9IO were passed for payment At the conclusion of the meeting Councillor Lynch intimated that in.all probability he would not seek re-election, fix'* had met with every consideration from the councillors during his twelve years of office. Lulogistic reference to the services rendered by the chairman was made by several councillors. The hope was generally expressed that Air Lynch wculd reconsider his decisionCouncillor Whiteman, said he had been on the council for nine years and during that time not an atom of ill-feeling had been, shown at the meetings.
