We take the following from out evening contemporary's issue of yesterday:— “To-day a writ claiming ,£5Ol damages for alleged libel was issued from tho office of Mr E. G. Jellicoe, at the instance of Albert Pcney Major, cook, against Messrs Blundell Bros., Ltd., proprietors of the ‘ Evening Post.’ Plaintiff was employed by Edmund Carroll at 2, Willis street, and on July sth the ‘ Post ’ printed a report of tho Ilenlth Department dealing with Carroll's tearooms. together _ with comment thereon. Plaintiff complains that hq has suffered loss and injury by tho publication of these articles, and proceeds accordingly."
