ANNUAL MEETING. OUB OWN COEBE3POND3IiqT July 29. The annual meeting of the members of tho Masterton A. and P, Association was held this afternoon, Mr W. Perry presiding over an. attendance of about sixty. ANNUAL EE POET. Tho annual report stated that the position of the association had improved by about J 21300 as compared with the previous year. Tho year's working, apart from donations to improvement account, and from the Solway syndicate, showed a net profit of «£209 17s 3d. Tho membership now stood at 853, an increase of 113 on the previous year. ELECTION..OF OFFICEES. The following officers were elected unopposed : —Patron, Mr J, McGregor; president, Mr H. Morrison; vice-presidents, Messrs W. J. Welch and R. J. Dagg; treasurer, Mr G. C. Summereii; auditor, Mr J. JB. Keith. There were thirty-five nominations for the thirty positions on tho general committee, the following being elected; — Messrs G. E. Allen, W. E. Bidwill, W. H. Buick, D, Caselberg, O. C. -Cooper, W. Cooper, H. J. Dagg, A, Donald, (J. Donald, E. Gray, E. Harper, J, M. James, T. P. Lett, H. A, Matthews, D. McGregor jun., J. C, McKillop, A. D. McMaster, A. J. Percy, W. Perry, J. E. Perry, B. Eayner, G. Shawj E. Smith, j. Strang, C. F. Vallance, W. D. Batson, R. Morrison, J. B. Moodio, H.. Evans. D. W. Foreman, J. E. Perry.
CHAIRMAN'S ADDBI3SS. Air W. Perry, in moving the adoption of the report, said that in removing to new show grounds at Solway, the association had made a wise movo, tho results of tho last show clearly demonstrating this- Tho railway facilities at Solway,were of the best,-and in this connection they had to thank the Railway Department for valuable assistance received. No other showground in New Zealand had the water laid bn in every paddock, t They had had a highly successful yea?*, but there was only one drawback —the overdraft of .£5700. It had been suggested that a loan of .£4OOO bo raised at 4J per cent,, tho balance of £1750 to bo provided for by means of overdraft. Then an effort should bo made in tho autumn to reduce that overdraft, and it could be done, he was sure. Last year they had given prize money amounting to £9S2, this being £153 more than the previous year, while the gates had been £IOB better than in 1910. Air D, McGregor seconded the motion, and said tho association had reason to bo proud'of tho management of its affairs during tho past year. The motion was carried. NEW MEMBERS. Twenty-six new members were elected, bringing the total up to 879. Milk has been selling at Gisborne as high as firepenco per quart. The rise was attributed to one or two wholesale dealers who desired to acquire a monopoly of the trade.
