DISASTROUS WALKING TRIP.
PBEB3 ASSOCIATION. WAIROA. July 28. Four men named Robinson, Townsend, Higgins, and Baker, left Wairokci station ■with the intention of walking 1 to Rotorua. fCho y got lost in the bush, and for four dtvya lived on berries. They managed to reach the head of Wnakarcmotana, thirty Julies from the Lake Honsc, on Sunday morning, and built a raft, as three of ■thorn were sailors. Higgins and Baker embarked on tho raft to crocs the lake, but Robinson and Townsend decided to walk. Eobinsou and Townsend reached liako House this morning, but there n.ro no tidings of the men on tho raft. It is .feared they have been lost. The lake was •very rough at tho time. Search parties fire now out.
