The New Zealand Rugby League team defeated the Hunter river team at Maitland by 40 points to 8. Gilmore, Savoury, Morse, Rukatai, Francis, Mitchell, McDonald, and Gillett scored tries. The weather was showery and the ground slippery. From the start the New Zealanders outclassed the local players and won easily.
